Designed for students who wish to pursue jobs or graduate study in health, healthcare and public health, the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of West Florida positions students for a variety of careers. Graduates of UWF’s health sciences program work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, mental health organizations, and more. Some students pursue graduate study in various healthcare fields.

The degree program covers topics such as the fundamentals of the healthcare system in the U.S., healthcare vocabulary, laws regulating healthcare practices, current epidemics, and more. As part of the online health sciences degree, students complete a capstone course that focuses on modern research in the health sciences, including the scientific method, research ethics, and data collection.
